semester filter

The legislative decree confirms that from 2025/26 access to Medicine for Italian-speaking universities will be open in the first semester, without an initial entrance exam (semestre filtro). The option does not disappear: it is transferred to the end of the filter semester, based on the results achieved in the exams.

Registration for the filter semester (semestre filtro):

Access to the first semester of Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine courses at Italian-speaking universities will be open to all students. Each student can register for the filter semester a maximum of three times. This is a substantial innovation that transforms the first semester into a field selection phase.

What happens after the first semester?

The selection rules

At the end of the filter semester (semestre filtro), to continue in Medicine you will need:

-to pass all required exams (biology-chemistry-physics)

-to obtain all established CFU units;

-to be included in the national evaluation ranking.

Those who achieve these goals will be admitted to the second semester at one of the locations indicated during the registration phase.

To get off to a good start and gain an advantage during the semester, we recommend the program, which allows you to strengthen your foundations, acquire all the knowledge required by the selection process, and adopt the necessary strategies to successfully face the first semester exams.
